Toowoomba is a great town.
I love the way that it has retained much of it's heritage and feel of being a big country town rather than a city.
Locals are friendly and helpful, streets are wide and parking is easy.

Toowoomba is a beautiful city, especially if you are partial to trees and gardens. In addition to this there is more than enough shopping and some amazing views. Plus the cafe scene is well stocked and bars are all over the place! Certainly worth the trip.

They still have many of the old architectural building which is a credit to the town. Being central you could walk just about everywhere.

Our last overnight stop before home so did not spend much time there.
Would be an ideal place to stay for the yearly flower festival. Visited the Cobb & Co museum which was very interesting. Nice, very popular cafe inside. Made our own supper with food purchased from the Coles supermarket which was right near the Jacaranda Place Motor Inn. A fast food outlet was situated on the other side of the road, so no need to go hungry.

We came to Toowoomba to visit a family member in Hospital, it was not a trip for pleasure unfortunately, but its like any other city, hustle and bustle of traffic flow, if you don't like the rat race of traffic, don't drive in the busy periods.

The Flower Gardens on Display were First Class and the idea of bringing the displays to the retail shops windows is excellent for the local businesses, plus it helps to spread out the large viewing population. If you don't like being in the bustle of QLD school holidays, might need to think a little to avoid the crush. The retail Food outlets do a fantastic job of catering for the masses in a timely fashion, careful some restaurants need to to be booked ahead of time. You could plan this when doing your accommodations. Also you could use the area as home base for some localised scenic day tours.
